25th Annual International: American Society of Botanical Artists and Wave Hill

In collaboration with the American Society of Botanical Artists, Wave Hill presents the 25th Annual International, a juried exhibition that celebrates plant life, the most diverse group of organisms on the planet, as well as the enduring appeal of nature as a subject for artists. Selected by exhibition jurors John Pastoriza-Piñol, botanical artist and educator; Karen Kluglein, botanical artist and instructor; and Eileen Jeng Lynch, former Curator of Visual Arts, Wave Hill, and current Director of Curatorial Programs, Bronx Museum of the Arts; the exhibition features 46 works that highlight a range of botanical interests. The international roster includes artists from the United States, Canada, Czech Republic, France, India, Ireland, Japan, Korea and the United Kingdom. Several of the plants depicted can be spotted in Wave Hill’s gardens and greenhouses, giving visitors the unique opportunity to compare botanical art with actual specimens.

Its mission is to provide a thriving, interactive community dedicated to perpetuating the tradition and contemporary practice of botanical art.
